Call for Consultants: Panel of Trainers
Two consultants per province: Limpopo, Gauteng and Mpumalanga
Democracy Works Foundation (DWF) opened its doors in 2014 in South Africa in response to the weakening of public institutions, corruption and declining citizen participation. It is an organisation committed to promoting and building democracy in Southern Africa and supporting inclusive development and regional cooperation. DWF believes in developing homegrown and innovative solutions that support public officials and states to be more open, transparent, responsive and accountable. We also work to build the capacity of citizens and provide tools enabling them to better impact their democracies, meet their obligations and claim their rights. DWF works on the supply and demand side of democracy.
Through its Climate, Environment and Resources Governance Programme, DWF is implementing projects to strengthen inclusive climate governance and advance a Just Energy Transition (JET) in South Africa, with the aim of advancing socio-economic development and promoting inclusive participation in decision-making.
DWF invites applications from suitably qualified consultants to support the Civic Transitions for Inclusive Climate Action (CTICA) programme, implemented through the Climate, Environment and Resources Governance Programme in Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo. The CTICA programme seeks to strengthen the capacity of community-based organisations (CBOs), civil society organisations (CSOs) and local leaders to participate meaningfully in climate and energy governance, including the Just Energy Transition.
DWF is currently recruiting consultants for the following short-term opportunities:
- Panel of Trainers for CBO/CSO Capacity-Building Workshops – six trainers, with two trainers to be appointed in each province of activity: Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo. Trainers will deliver the DWF-supplied CTICA curriculum on a call-off basis following participation in a Training of Trainers session.

Applicants must submit a CV, short cover letter, two professional references and an indicative daily rate, and should clearly indicate the province for which they are applying.
